Antarctica is an ice-wall nobody crosses.

Quick reality-check: Scientists overwinter on the interior plateau; commercial cruises circle the continent; and in December 2024 even prominent flat-Earther Jeran Campanella flew there, saw the 24-hour Sun and publicly admitted he was wrong.

Why is this claim made?
The claim is based on the idea that Antarctica is a forbidden, impassable barrier. Flat-Earth proponents often cite conspiracy theories and the continent’s remoteness as evidence.
Why the claim doesn’t work
Antarctica is regularly visited by scientists, tourists, and even skeptics. The 24-hour Sun, circumnavigation, and GPS tracking all confirm it is a continent, not a wall.
Evidence against the claim
  • Overwintering scientists and commercial cruises visit Antarctica annually.
  • South-polar flights and GPS tracks are public and verifiable.
  • Prominent flat-Earthers have visited Antarctica and confirmed the 24-hour Sun.
Easy evidence: Track any south-polar flight (e.g., Qantas QF27/28) on public ADS-B websites—its great-circle path only makes sense on a globe.
Summary
Antarctica is a well-studied, accessible continent—not a hidden wall. Direct evidence and firsthand accounts refute the claim.
